Nowadays, Satellite Communication through broadcast and teleconferencing networks is being widely used for distance interactive training, education and extension. This mode of communication not only helps the users in remote areas in accessing information on various important subjects but also gives them a platform wherein they can share their problems as well as concerns with decision makers. This helps both the sides in understanding the problems and addressing them efficiently.
Department of Women and Child Development has also, with the help of Bhaskaracharya Institute for Space Applications and Geo-informatics (BISAG) has established two way audio and one way video network across the State. The idea is to use these means of communication for information dissemination and awareness generation on various issues of concern especially for women. |
